Pride Paws Park

Dedication of Pride Paws Park June 24, 2018, shown are members of the Toccoa Lions Club, members of the Toccoa-Stpehens County Humane Shelter, and government officials

It all started when…

Two members of the Toccoa Lions Club noticed that the volunteers of the Toccoa-Stephens County Humane Shelter were exercising the dogs on a busy road.  From that moment in the summer of 2015 until the official opening on June 24, 2018, many Lions and citizens of the community began to come together to see the park come to fruition.  The Lions entered a 99 year lease with the Stephens County Board of Commissioners on March 14, 2017.  Pride Paws Park will last well into the next century.

Why Pride Paws Park?  It is a play on words.  A group of Lions is called a Pride, thus the name Pride.  Paws, well it is for the paws of the animals that will be able to be exercised in safety.  Thus the name of Pride Paws Park!
